Let it go...

It never ceases to amaze me how some people’s way of thinking goes a little astray…
The saying “do unto others as you would have done unto you”… of course some people joke (or not) about it actually being “do unto others before they do unto you”…however some people seem to understand it to actually be “do unto others as others have done unto you”. The first works, the second two, however, do not.
If somebody has wronged you… do you go out of your way to hurt somebody in the way that person hurt you… Does that sit well on your conscience? I couldn’t imagine it would. I’m a big believer in Karma… What goes around, comes around. Aren’t you just fuelling a vicious out of control fire… one that you started. You may blame the person who wronged you, but it was actually up to you to put that fire out when it burned you. But to take that fire, move it somewhere else, then add fuel, is just going to end in tragedy.

It should be up to you to put the fire out, let the grass grow over it. Sow new seeds. Let things go, and move on. Move on to make things better. Go out of your way to make somebody else happy. But of course, guard your heart. Always.

Having said that, you can never make somebody else happy, if you are not happy within yourself. This is not always an easy task for somebody who has been hurt. If you don’t work through your feelings properly you could end up bitter and twisted. Look after your heart and if you’re harboring bad feelings, get rid of them. Work them out in the way you know how. Go for a run. Or eat an entire slab of chocolate on your own. If it makes you feel better, then do that. But not every day for ever more… you have to eventually let go and move on. But never forget. If you find you’re unable to move on, then seek professional advise. There’s nothing wrong with getting totally unbiased advise from somebody who knows what they’re talking about. But work through it and get on with your life. And make your life better. Because only you have the power to change your life and the way you live it.
