Cold, but hot...

It's that time of year again... Winter is upon us.

One thing is for sure. I don't like the cold that comes with winter.  But I love my winter wardrobe!

For the past few weeks, I have got a compliment a day in my winter garb.

Maybe it's because I can cover up more (all those bulges don't look so bad with all the layers I'm wearing)...

I find that winter clothing can be so much more stylish.  A simple scarf can do wonders to an otherwise plain outfit.

Boots!! No other shoes can compare to a good pair of boots. They're comfortable and warm...

Fingerless Gloves. They're cute and keep my hands warm. My fingers are still functional - I can still drive, type and do other things that you can't do with full gloves.

Long socks. Nobody sees them under all the layers, but I know they're there.  I like to get bright stripey ones - they're so much more fun!!

Before I know it the cold will be on its way out and we'll be welcoming the summer again...
I'm sure I'll miss the scarves and boots, but maybe I'll have an excuse to revamp my summer wardrobe.

A hula hoop post) You’ve heard all the talk… hula hooping is a great exercise and gets your tummy in good shape (and all the other good stuff that goes with it)… You’ve tried hooping with your child’s hula hoop, and failed… miserably…  Then you went off to a department store and found a hoop in the gym section, and thought you’d give that a try too.  Maybe it worked, perhaps it didn’t.  You try and try and try… And the hoop keeps falling.  You want to give up.  I nearly did, but I persisted. Next step.  You google hula hoops and discover that hula hoops aren’t all the same.  You actually get such a thing as an ADULT HULA HOOP.  So what’s the difference?  A small kiddies hoop is made of very light plastic and is teeny tiny.  I know many kids who can’t keep a kiddies hoop up!!

Life is Wonderful

This month has been a bit of a hectic financial month. It started with a vet visit for my Bionic dog, Bella. I nicknamed her Bionic Bella, not because she has any robotic parts, but she's looks like she's been through 5 different wars. She's always been the dog to come out second best in a fight, but she's also made it through some situations other dogs would not have. Bella and Koda (my 3 year old pup who is about 5 times her size) had a fight one night. She had a few scratches but nothing serious. The way she is, she carried on like nothing was wrong (I once came home to find half her cheek hanging off - her and her brother Odie had been in a fight). She developed an abscess and I had to take her to the vet to get her on a course of antibiotics.
